Princess Kate has always supported the reconciliation process and efforts between Harry and William as she beleives the two royal brothers still have soft corners for each other.

However, she knows the bitter truth about the Sussexes' future in the royal family.

Even after meeting King Charles at Highgrove House on 10 July, Meghan and Harry will not be welcomed back as working royals, with Princess Kate seeing no support for part-time royal status.

The 77-year-old monarch hopes to reconcile with the family. He sees Harry and Meghan’s return as a chance to strengthen the future of the monarchy.

On teh other hand, Kate is sure her husband will take time to forgive the Sussexes for the years of bad blood he believes they caused. There are some things that can’t be undone.

The future monarch and Kate don’t think it’s possible to build bridges without first building trust – and, right now, that doesn’t exist.

"Charles believes the monarchy has to think long-term, and Harry, Meghan and the children could still have a role in strengthening the institution if relationships could somehow be repaired," an insider claimed to Heatworld.

But the Waleses don’t see it that way – they feel it won’t be solved by putting duty first.

Kate prefers to forgive and forget rather than hold grudges, but this is completely different. William feels like he and his wife were  dragged into a very public dispute that they never wanted any part of.

It seems difficult for William to file those feelings away just because someone tells him it’s better for the monarchy.
