Carole Middleton rushes to support brother after terrifying brush with death

Carole Middleton has been at the heart of another family health crisis after her younger brother, Gary Goldsmith, was rushed to hospital during a holiday in Spain with a life-threatening medical emergency.

The businessman, who has spoken publicly about the ordeal, revealed he was taken to hospital after suffering a severe internal bleed that doctors later traced to enlarged veins in his oesophagus.

Goldsmith said the frightening episode unfolded after enjoying a holiday meal, when he suddenly became critically ill and began vomiting large amounts of blood.

Doctors acted quickly, performing an emergency procedure to seal the damaged veins and prevent further bleeding.

Looking back on the incident, he admitted the outcome could have been very different had he not received urgent medical care in time.

The health scare came after Goldsmith had been using the weight-loss medication Mounjaro for several months.

While he discussed the timing of his treatment and illness, only his medical team could determine whether there was any connection between the two.

As news of his condition reached Britain, it was his daughter, Tallulah, who contacted Carole Middleton.

According to Goldsmith, his sister immediately stepped into the familiar role she has played throughout much of his life.

He revealed that Carole encouraged him to slow down, get more rest and pay closer attention to his wellbeing, advice he said reflected the protective nature she has always shown towards him.

The latest family emergency comes just a few years after Carole became a pillar of support for her daughter, the Princess of Wales, during her cancer treatment.
