Drake fires warning shot at rivals after triple-album takeover

Drake is back on the livestream and wasted little time to warn anyone considering taking a shot at him.

After spending months away from the spotlight, the rapper returned with a message, reminding his rivals that he isn't exactly finished writing.

Aimed squarely at his potential rivals, the Canadian native said in a video message, “These guys are dropping albums, like hello and goodbye, and careful with that reply cuz the pen isn’t dry.”

The remark immediately reignited the conversation surrounding Drake's relationship with rap's ever-present diss culture following his highly publicised feud with Kendrick Lamar.

And Drake certainly has plenty of ammunition to point to.

On May 15, he shocked listeners by releasing three albums simultaneously, titled Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour.

The surprise drop delivered a combined 43 tracks and marked his first solo album release since For All the Dogs in 2023.

The massive release also made an immediate impact on streaming. The three albums reportedly broke Spotify's 2026 record for the most single-day streams by a single artist.

Now, with that blockbuster release behind him, Drake appears to be signaling that the musical conversation isn't over and neither is his appetite for lyrical confrontation.
