Christopher Nolan has a new box office record, with The Odyssey becoming the biggest movie of his career.
The epic has now crossed $1.1 billion all over the world after just four weekends in cinemas.
It earned around $461.1 million in North America and another $643.6 million overseas.
That result puts The Odyssey ahead of The Dark Knight Rises, which ended its run with about $1.085 billion worldwide.
It is now Nolan’s highest grossing movie ever.
The success is also a major win for the film’s stars. The Odyssey became the biggest hit movie for Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson.
The movie is based on Homer’s famous Greek story and is about Odysseus as he tries to return home after the Trojan War.
Damon plays the legendary king, while Nolan directed and wrote the film.
The movie has also become the second highest grossing R rated film ever, behind Deadpool & Wolverine, which made $1.33 billion.
For Nolan, the achievement adds another huge success after Oppenheimer, which earned $975.8 million worldwide.
