TWICE fans react as Jeongyeon parts ways with JYP Entertainment

Jeongyeon exited JYP Entertainment after being affiliated with the company for 11 years.

The TWICE star announced her departure from the agency in an emotional letter to fans, wanting ONCE to know that she is not leaving behind the group that has been at the center of her life.

“I will be leaving JYP, with whom I have spent a long time since my teenage years, and will now begin a new chapter in a new place,” she wrote.

For fans, however, one part of her message stood out above everything else: her future with TWICE remains a priority.

“Leaving a familiar place was scary,” Jeongyeon shared, adding that she found the courage to make the decision because of the support of her members and ONCE.

She also used the letter to thank the JYP staff who helped shape her career, expressing gratitude to “the JYP family who helped me grow.”

“One thing I want to tell ONCE is that although I am moving to a new home and starting a new challenge, TWICE, the biggest center of my being, will remain unchanged as it is now,” she penned.

It is pertinent to note that while she is stepping away from the agency she has known since her youth, she is not presenting the decision as a departure from the group

Jeongyeon ended her letter by looking forward rather than dwelling on the change.

“There will be many more moments we create together in the future,” she told fans, promising to make their shared time “even more beautiful.”

The announcement naturally sparked an emotional response among fans, with many expressing relief that Jeongyeon's decision to leave JYP does not mean an end to her journey with TWICE.
