Dakota Johnson, Role Model's romance gets a soundtrack: ‘Love I You'

Dakota Johnson and her new boyfriend Role Model are taking their relationship into the recording studio, but the collaboration almost didn't happen.

The singer, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, revealed how the Materialists star ended up on his new song, titled Love I You, despite his efforts to keep romance and work separate.

In a recent interview he shared that Johnson, 36, provides the female voice the track from his new album Chuck Timely & The Hourglass.

The album was released on August 7, and the unexpected cameo gives fans another glimpse into the couple’s increasingly public romance.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the 29-year-old singer-songwriter explained that he initially wanted to keep his personal and professional lives separate.

His producer and guitarist Mason Stoops, however, repeatedly suggested that his girlfriend should record the part.

Role Model and Johnson eventually agreed to give it a try and she apparently impressed him with her vocal talent.

“I was just like, yeah, let’s try it. And it was amazing. Her voice was perfect on it,” he told the magazine.

The High Hopes 3000 singer initially pushed back the idea of her involvement because he didn't want to “mix work and relationships,” but Johnson volunteered.

Interestingly, Love I You features a flirty exchange between the pair, making the song feel like a playful snapshot of their real-life relationship rather than a conventional guest appearance.

For the unversed, the Verity actress began dating the younger singer around November 2025 following her breakup with Coldplay’s Chris Martin after around eight years together.
