Taron Egerton has shared a surprising story from the making of Legend, revealing that he once kissed Tom Hardy during a scene that was “never planned.”
The actor talked about the moment during an appearance on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.
Egerton played Mad Teddy Smith in the 2015 crime film, while Hardy played famous twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray.
Egerton, however, explained that the kiss happened while filming a scene inside a car.
After Hardy’s character returned from killing someone, Egerton’s character was waiting for him in the back seat.
“There was a scene where he murders someone and gets back in the car and I was in the back of the car waiting for him,” Egerton recalled. “I grabbed his face, and I snogged him. And it wasn't in the script.”
The star added that he then pulled away and waited to see how Hardy would react but Hardy seemed to enjoy the unexpected move and appeared impressed by his confidence.
The scene, moreover, was never included in the finished movie but Egerton said director Brian Helgeland was happy to let the actors try different things while filming.
He also shared that he was excited to work with Hardy because he was unpredictable.
The actors reportedly got along well during filming.
