Taylor Swift makes rare comment about The Eras Tour final show

Taylor Swift is giving fans a peek behind the curtain — and apparently, filming her final Eras Tour show was almost as complicated as performing it.

Speaking to 2026 Emmys voters in Los Angeles, Swift reflected on working with director Glenn Weiss to capture the magic of a tour that became a worldwide phenomenon.

“One of the things that I was so impressed by, and the needle Glenn [Weiss, the director] threaded so effortlessly, is that the Eras Tour was such a phenomenon because of so many factors,” Swift said. 

“One that I know that is really important is that it was a source of great escapism for the people who were there. Glenn and I had conversations about ‘How do we preserve this experience?’”

The answer became The Eras Tour: The Final Show, which landed five 2026 Emmy nominations, including Best Variety Special and Best Directing for a Variety Special.

Swift explained that recreating the stadium experience meant making sure viewers could still feel the freedom and excitement of being in the crowd.

“If you lose the feeling of relaxation and freedom for the fans there, then you’ve lost a huge element of what makes this concert experience so special,” she said.

And Swift couldn’t resist giving some credit to the crew — particularly the person running around with the camera.

“If you liked the choreography that you saw of our dancers, you should have seen the footwork of our Steadicam operator.”

The Eras Tour wrapped in December 2024 after becoming one of the biggest concert tours ever. 

Now, its final chapter is chasing Emmy gold — proving Swift’s ability to dominate an awards season doesn’t end when the stage lights go out.
