Kehlani has been forced to hit pause on her tour after a sudden health scare sent her to the hospital.

The Grammy-winning singer announced the cancellation of two upcoming shows on Instagram on Wednesday, August 26, saying she was left in severe pain.

“After two off days feeling completely normal, I’ve been up all night unable to swallow & in so much pain,” Kehlani, 31, wrote. “I just left the hospital & am not cleared to sing for the next two shows. I’m so sorry.”

Kehlani did not reveal further details about her illness but confirmed that her team is working on a solution for the cancelled concerts in Camden and Washington, D.C, originally scheduled for August 26 and 27.

“Breaks my heart to have to ever do this,” she emphasised. “I do everything I’m supposed to to ensure my health stays up to par & it still isn’t guaranteed. We will pick back up in Virginia.”

Kehlani is currently on the North American leg of her self-titled world tour and is expected to return to the stage at the Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront in Richmond, Virginia, on August 29.

Just two days prior to the hospitalisation, Kehlani revealed in another Instagram post that “life’s been sweet to me” and she’s “just been really alive.”
