Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's son Moses makes London debut with band

Moses Martin is carving out his own musical path, and he did it in the most fitting location possible. 

The 20-year-old son of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow played his first-ever London gig on Wednesday, August 26, bringing his band People I've Met to The Hawley Arms in Camden, the same part of the city where his father's band, Coldplay, got its start. 

Coldplay, then performing under the name Starfish, played their own first Camden show back in 1998.

In an interview with Rolling Stone UK earlier this week, Moses addressed the reality of pursuing music with two famous parents, acknowledging the advantage without shying away from it. 

"It's definitely something to be reckoned with. I think the ultimate thing is that I'm very grateful to be in the position I'm in and I have a musical DNA through my parents," he said. 

"My parents are incredible, and I'm very grateful to be in the position I'm in." 

He was quick to emphasize that the band's work stands on its own.

"But what I'm trying to say is that yes, we acknowledge it and we're grateful for it, but we're doing something that is special and unique to us, and that we really care about. And so ultimately, whatever gets people to listen to the music really, like wherever they come from, we welcome any fan. We really just love it and I particularly am grateful also to have parents who are supportive of this because they know what it's like."

The London show is the latest step in Moses's growing public profile. 

He made his modeling debut earlier this summer in Burberry's Escape to the Countryside campaign, appearing alongside models Edie Campbell, Nora Attal and Sang Woo Kim as part of a group of friends on a countryside road trip. 

The campaign's video was soundtracked by his own band, using their track For Hire, described in press materials as capturing the freedom of a road trip. 

In December, Moses made his red carpet debut, joining his mother at the premiere of her film Marty Supreme, while Paltrow wore a strapless black gown from her label Gwyn, Moses opted for a brown and black suede sweater paired with matching corduroy pants and shoes.
