Post Malone apparently understood the assignment when it came to proposing — and the ring was only part of the surprise.
The Sunflower singer, 31, proposed to fiancée Christy Lee on August 17 at their Utah ranch, turning what began as a quiet evening with animals into a full-blown engagement celebration.
Lee opened up about the romantic proposal to Vogue, revealing Malone had a few surprises waiting before he even got down on one knee.
“There was something so special about being at our ranch, surrounded by the people we love most and all of our new little animals,” Lee said.
“The whole evening felt incredibly intimate and personal. It was the most special moment of my life.”
“Austin first surprised me with a baby Highland cow, bunnies, and chickens.”
Then came dinner — and another surprise.
“He had planned the most beautiful intimate dinner at the ranch,” she added, “with another surprise waiting for me—my best friends and parents were all there.”
As light rain began falling, Malone led Lee to an arch covered in greenery and white flowers and proposed.
But the real jaw-dropper was waiting on her finger.
Lee said Malone spent months subtly investigating her jewelry preferences, asking questions that she didn’t realize were anything more than casual conversation.
“I told him I’d always thought there was something so chic about an oval.”
She also admitted she preferred “something very simple, with a delicate, thin gold band.”
When Malone asked whether a ring could ever be too big, Lee jokingly replied that she didn’t think so. He apparently took that seriously.
The result was a custom 20-plus-carat natural oval diamond on a thin gold band.
“When I saw it, I was honestly speechless,” Lee said. “He had somehow taken all of those little conversations and created exactly what I would have chosen for myself.”
