Liza Minnelli has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her longtime friend Dolly Parton.

The actress admitted she is struggling to find the right words after Dolly died on Tuesday at the age of 80 following a short battle with cancer.

Liza, also 80, shared an emotional message on Instagram and said the news had left hearts “cracking all over the world.”

She remembered Dolly as a loving and supportive friend who was always there when things became difficult. The two stars had been friends for many years after meeting through their shared former agent, Sam Haskell.

Liza said they often supported each other and enjoyed spending time together after their concerts. She also hinted at the private moments they shared, including what she called their “spicy girl gossip” over meals.

The Cabaret star became so emotional that she admitted she was “struggling to get any words out.”

“My throat … my heart … are full,” she wrote.

Liza then shared a touching tribute written by Haskell, who remembered Dolly for her kindness, humor and generosity.

He said Dolly made people feel seen and used her success to help others.

For Liza, Dolly was not just a huge star. She was a close friend whose loss has left her heartbroken.
