27 more arrested for violation of meat holiday

PESHAWAR: District administration arrested owners of 27 restaurants for violation of meat holiday during two day campaign in this regard.

The action has been initiated on the directives of the provincial government for complete maintenance of meat holiday.

The Deputy Commissioner (D.C) asked all Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs) for accelerating action in their respective areas.

In this connection AACs Mohammad Shoaib and Mohammad Fawad conducted raids in Firdous Bazaar Hashtnagri Hospital Road Bajouri Gate and other areas and arrested the owners of 27 restaurants for violation of the meat holiday after registering cases under Section 3 6FSA against them.

Similarly 11 bakers were arrested for selling underweight rotis while 10 other closed down their shops to avoid arrest.
