Prince William and Princess Kate, who are understood to be sceptical about the Sussexes return, are trying their best to hold their tongue as they plan their next move.
The Prince and Princess of Wales notably ignored Prince Harry and Meghan ever since they returned to Britain. Meanwhile, Palace sources and royal rota reporters have said that the King is “welcomed” the idea of having the family back in the country.
Behind the scenes, sources have claimed that William and Catherine have had discussions about the matter, but what they would not be doing is make any public statement. According to insiders cited by People Magazine, the Waleses are resisting any “knee-jerk reaction”.
This is the first positive sign from William and Kate, as they believe that there is a possibility that situation can improve over time, and they don’t want to make any declarations.
“They are watching this space. It’s private — they don’t feel the need to say anything or demonstrate anything outwardly,” the source said, adding that any reconciliation “will be a slow build”.
There is no doubt that William and Kate feel a “deep sense of betrayal” and especially between the estranged brothers, the relationship is “so broken”.
“I thought it would have perhaps eased a little bit by now, to be honest. But there has been no movement, especially on William’s side. There is no contact,” a source previously said of the William and Harry.
