Dove Cameron’s first single from her upcoming debut album appears to be a love letter to her fiancé, Damiano David.

On Wednesday, August 2, the 30-year-old singer announced her new song, When in Rome — the first single from her still-unnamed debut album — set for release on September 9.

In the announcement post, Cameron described the track as a “love song” and previewed a few lyrics that appear to be heavily inspired by her relationship with the Måneskin frontman.

“We should fall in love / When in Rome / Why don’t we get married? / Build a home / Something in the summer time, maybe all the cherry wine…” she sings in a snippet she shared, which appears to be from the song’s music video.

Cameron and Damiano, who is Italian, have spent plenty of time in Rome since they began dating in 2023. The pair made their red carpet debut during the 2024 Grammy Awards season and went Instagram official around the same time.

The couple took their relationship to the next level earlier this year, announcing their engagement on January 3, 2026.
