Robert Pattinson reacts after fan yells iconic ‘The Odyssey' line at him

Robert Pattinson got a hilarious taste of his own viral fame.

Over the weekend, while he was signing autographs at the Venice Film Festival, a fan shouted one of his most recognizable lines from The Odyssey at him.

Someone from the crowd suddenly yelled, “Somebody get these beggars out of here!”

The Twilight star reacted after hearing the viral dialogue from Christopher Nolan's epic film.

Rather than taking offense, he immediately broke into laughter, a fitting reaction to a line that has become one of the internet’s favourite movie memes.

For the unversed, the phrase comes from The Odyssey, in which Pattinson, 40, plays Antinous, the arrogant and ruthless leader of the suitors occupying Odysseus’ palace while the king is away.

In the scene, an impoverished stranger arrives at the palace looking for food and shelter. Antinous, irritated by his presence, orders the guards to remove him, unaware that the apparently helpless “beggar” is actually Odysseus himself, played by Matt Damon, disguised after finally returning home.

The Batman actor’s exaggerated, smug delivery quickly escaped the movie and became a viral meme.

Fans began using the quote online to jokingly dismiss people, mock an unwanted situation or dramatically declare that someone needs to leave.

Interestingly, The Drama lead has previously embraced the phenomenon, saying he enjoys seeing people imitate individual movie lines.
