Miley Cyrus is loving fans’ reactions to her new song, Bass Persuades.
The pop icon, who recently dropped her last name from her public profile, took to Instagram to celebrate the success of Bass Persuades a day after it was released.
“LOVE that you’re LOVING BP!” Miley wrote alongside several stills and behind-the-scenes from the song’s music video.
The 33-year-old then explained that Bass Persuades is “a song about giving in to the music and getting into our bodies.”
Released on Friday, August 4, Bass Persuades is the lead single from Miley’s upcoming album by the same name, set to be released in full on September 18. Announcing the album last week, the Grammy-winner went into further detail about the broader vision of the album.
“Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong,” she wrote. “Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.”
The album announcement came just days after the Flowers hitmaker was photographed heading to the studio following the death of her godmother, Dolly Parton.
Paying tribute to the country legend, Miley noted that Dolly would want her to “write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong.” This suggests that a Dolly tribute song could appear on the full album, although fans will have to wait two more weeks to find out.
