Pakistan launches Punjab land record services for its citizens in UAE

DUBAI: Pakistan has launched land record services for properties in Punjab at its diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates, allowing overseas Pakistanis to obtain ownership documents without travelling to Pakistan.

The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai launched the facility in cooperation with the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), the embassy said in a press statement.

The missions have begun issuing "Fards" (land ownership records) used to establish details of property ownership in Punjab.

The initiative is aimed at improving access to government services for Pakistanis living abroad and reducing the need for them to travel to Pakistan for land-record documentation.

The embassy said the service forms part of wider government efforts to provide digital and accessible public services to overseas Pakistanis.

The missions have advised interested citizens to contact their 24-hour helplines or visit the embassy and consulate during office hours for further information.
