Snoop Dogg announced as host for 2026 MTV VMAs

Snoop Dogg is making his grand return to the MTV Video Music Awards.

The hip-hop icon will host the 2026 VMAs, which will air September 27 on CBS, MTV and Paramount+.

“MTV and the VMAs have been part of my story since the beginning,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “Some of the biggest moments of my career happened on that stage and on MTV — they gave hip hop a place to be loud, fearless and seen by the whole world.”

“So to come back now and host the VMAs, all these years later, that’s a full-circle moment for me,” he continued. “And doing it with my brother Van Toffler makes it even more special.”

Indeed, the 54-year-old, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., is a 13-time VMAs nominee and three-time winner. His previous wins include Best Rap Video in 1994, Best Dance Video in 2006 and Best Art Direction in 2015.

Snoop has also delivered several memorable VMA moments, including his 2022 performance with Eminem inspired by the Otherside metaverse. He previously paid tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. in 2005 and closed the 1999 ceremony alongside Dr. Dre and Eminem.
