Matty Healy confirms speculations about The 1975 album, tour amid hiatus

Matty Healy and his band The 1975 have been on hiatus for a while, and despite them hinting at a twin album there haven't been any official announcements, so fans are now buzzing with excitement at a major update.

The 37-year-old pop rockstar crossed paths with a fan in New York City and shared exclusive updates with her.

The fan immediately took to social media and shared that the 1975 front man confirmed the Spring 2027 tour rumours are false. 

He also clarified that the upcoming record is almost completed, and might be released sometime next year.

While the band is not going on a tour right now, one at at the end of 2027 is still on the cards.

Although Healy could not describe the sound of the album in works, he told the fan that it is their "best" work yet and it sounds "very English and very happy."

Fans on social media went into a frenzy over the updates, but one wrote, "But he wouldn't spill the beans if it were really gonna happen, right? There are a thousand contracts banning stuff like that."

Another added, "he way this guy lies, you can't take him seriously, no way lol."

A third chimed in, "matty healy signs of life good morning world," and "Matty healy please come home," wrote one.
