Harry Styles addresses retirement rumours in emotional speech: Dont worry

Harry Styles is pouring his heart out to his fans after sparking retirement rumours.

During the ninth night of his Together, Together Tour MSG residency on Saturday, September 12, the former One Direction star took a moment before performing his song, Carla’s Song, to explain to fans what he meant when he wrote in a recent email to fans, “I don’t know what comes next” after his tour ends next year.

“I sort of just want to be honest about who I am and where I am at in my life,” Styles, 32, began, per fan-captured videos. “I didn’t wanna get to the end of the tour as we have previously and sort of say ‘until next time.’ I just wanted to be a little honest with you about that.”

The multi-Grammy winner reflected on his experience in the music industry, which he entered when he auditioned for X Factor at just 16 years old. “Everything in my life has sort of taught me that everything in this world is about getting more and achieving more and more shows and bigger things and bigger everything.”

But in recent years, Styles noted that his perspective has changed. “I’m working on learning to be content with what is enough, and I don’t ever want these moments to ever feel less special because once they’re done they’re sort of on to the next thing.”

The musician, who is reportedly engaged to actress Zoe Kravitz, went on to call his ongoing tour “the joy of my life,” explaining that he’s trying to “appreciate [the shows] in the moment” because he knows “things like this don’t last forever.”

“I wanted to be open with you and share it with you because I think, maybe, all together we can acknowledge how nice it is to be in these rooms and have these moments. It’s been a privilege and an honour. Thank you so much,” he continued.

Styles emphasised that he’s “not trying to be dramatic” and told fans not to worry. “It’s just… I love you and I wanted to speak to you like I would speak to my friends about this. I feel like getting to the end and saying ‘until next time’ is not enough. I just wanted to be a little more open with you. I love you so much.”

In his recent email to fans, Styles announced the two additional (and final) dates of the Together, Together tour as he admitted, “After that, I don’t know what comes next for me, but I know that I’m excited to find out.”

The cryptic wording sparked rumours that Styles may be planning on retiring next year. However, his recent speech has made it clear that there are no such plans as of yet.
