Fact-check: Fake video uses Geo News anchor, Mian Mansha to promote an investment platform
Geo News spokesperson confirmed that the viral video is fake and was not aired by the channel

A Facebook page is promoting an alleged investment platform called ‘Halal Capital’, claiming people can earn millions of rupees by investing just Rs70,000.
The page has shared a video that purportedly shows a Geo News anchorperson promoting the platform.
The claim is false.
Claim
On July 27, a Facebook user shared a post featuring a video in which a Geo News anchor can be heard saying that Pakistani businessman Mian Muhammad Mansha has opened the Halal Capital platform for Pakistani citizens.
“Now anyone can easily earn Rs2.8 million a week without any effort or knowledge,” the anchor can be heard saying.
The video also features footage of Mansha, who appears to endorse the platform and claims that users can earn hundreds of thousands of rupees a day and millions of rupees a week.

Fact
Geo News has not promoted any such platform, and the original footage of businessman Mian Muhammad Mansha has been manipulated using AI-generated audio.
A reverse image search conducted by Geo Fact Check traced the footage of Mansha to a video from an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Pakistan event held on March 4, 2019.
The original video, which runs for 19 minutes and 52 seconds, was published on ACCA Pakistan’s official YouTube channel. Geo Fact Check reviewed the full video and found no statement by Mansha endorsing the ‘Halal Capital’ platform or making any of the claims about investment returns attributed to him in the viral video.
Additionally, Geo News spokesperson also confirmed to Geo Fact Check that the viral video is fake and was not aired by the channel. “No, this is fake,” the spokesperson said.
The audio in the viral video was also analysed using Hiya, a deepfake voice detection tool. It gave the audio an authenticity score of 21 out of 100, indicating that it was highly likely to have been AI-generated.
Verdict: The video falsely links Mian Muhammad Mansha to the ‘Halal Capital’ investment platform by using manipulated footage and AI-generated audio.
