Matty Healy stopped Swifties in their tracks as he posted a demo to his unreleased song on social media without prior announcement.
The 37-year-old indie rockstar shared a cryptic video which showed his lyrics being typed out on a typewriter while the song played in the background.
Taylor Swift's fans immediately noticed the typewriter and believed it to be a nod to the pop superstar's song The Tortured Poets Department, famously written about her short-lived romance with Healy in which she references the typewriter.
In a frenzy, fans flocked to X, and wrote, "The best songwriter of his generation. The best, what do we say, a poet…," and "I guess he got it back from that apartment somehow."
A third chimed in, "Never beating the tortured poet allegations," while another quipped, "He bought a new one or she gave that one back to him."
More added, "It’s THE typewriter," and "He knows what he's doing—"
Swifites also added, "kinda relieving to see she’s haunting him lol," and "THIS JS WHY IM NEVER OK."
