WATCH: Jemima Goldsmith shares cherished moments from wedding with O'Reilly

Jemima Goldsmith has shared photographs capturing moments from her wedding to Irish-Australian financier Cameron O’Reilly, offering a glimpse into the private celebrations held days ago.

Goldsmith, 52, an award-winning screenwriter and producer, married 62-year-old O’Reilly, the son of late Irish businessman, media tycoon and international rugby player Sir Anthony O’Reilly. The couple had been dating for around a year after meeting through their work in films and documentaries.

Goldsmith’s sister-in-law Jemima Jones, wife of her brother Ben Goldsmith, was among those who first shared news of the wedding, posting a photograph of herself with Ben dressed for the celebrations and writing: “Celebrating Jemima and Cameron’s wedding, with my favourite date, what a happy day!”

The marriage is Goldsmith’s second and comes 22 years after the end of her nine-year marriage to former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan. The former couple, who were married from 1995 until their divorce in 2004, have two sons, Sulaiman and Kasim Khan.

Despite their divorce, Goldsmith has remained publicly vocal about Khan’s imprisonment and treatment in Pakistan. 

Last month, she appealed to the British government to speak out, describing the situation surrounding his detention as a “human-rights emergency” and raising concerns about his health, isolation and access to his family.

She also attended the Pakistan-England Test at Lord’s with Sulaiman and Kasim and posted #FreeImranKhan as her sons stepped up their public campaign over their father’s imprisonment.

Goldsmith has maintained a strong connection with Pakistan since her years living there with Khan. 

In an exclusive interview with Geo News three years ago, she spoke emotionally about the country, including her life in Zaman Park, Pakistani society and culture, and her affection for its people and creative talent.

Speaking about her work in film, Goldsmith said she had set herself the challenge of making a film that celebrated Pakistan.

“I wanted to show the colourful, beautiful, joyful place that I knew when I was in Pakistan as opposed to the Pakistan we often see on the Western screens,” she said, referring to the way Pakistanis and Muslims are often portrayed in Western productions.

Goldsmith said the project allowed her to make a romantic comedy set against the Pakistan she knew, featuring Pakistani actress Sajal Ali alongside Shabana Azmi, Lily James, Emma Thompson and Shahzad Latif.
