The singer and actress recently opened up about beauty, ageing and the way people still remember her from 2016.
Selena said she is happy with getting older, even though fans often bring back pictures of how she looked nearly ten years ago.
The Who Says hitmaker added that she sometimes feels like people want to “freeze” her in that time.
She also remembers 2016 as a very busy period in her life, when her dark smoky eye was a big part of her look.
Her beauty style is now much simpler as the music icon still enjoys a smoky eye, but she does not wear it the same way all the time.
Selena said natural beauty is important to her, even though some people still love her older looks.
She also talked about her younger sister Gracie, who is 13. Selena said Gracie likes trying different looks but understands that she does not need makeup to feel good about herself.
The Clam Down hitmaker shared these thoughts as she received PEOPLE’s first Beauty Impact Award for her work with Rare Beauty.
Its Rare Impact Fund has raised more than $30 million for youth mental health.
