Kim Kardashian has shared a heartbreaking health update after being afflicted with a condition that killed her father, Robert Kardashian, at the age of 59.

Kim was seen lying on the hospital bed after being diagnosed with a condition that cause esophagitis, inflammation of the lining of the esophagus, in the latest trailer for season eight of The Kardashians.

Robert, an attorney who famously defended OJ Simpson in his murder case, died from esophageal cancer in 2003.

'I have something called esophagitis,' Kim tells her makeup team before she is shown laying on a hospital bed, looking weary as medical staffers tend to her.

A friend of Kim then asks if it's the same condition Robert died from.

'I can't, it makes me want to cry,' Kim's mother, Kris Jenner, says in the teaser.

Kris was married to Robert for 13 years and they had four children together: Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Robert Jr. They divorced in 1991.

Robert's death came four years before his family shot to worldwide fame on the E! reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian has sent her stylist, Chris Appleton a bouquet of white roses.

Appleton, best known for styling Kardashian’s most iconic looks,43, is set to compete in the new series of the BBC show, Strictly Come Dancing.
