Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour hits road block after Macklemore exit

Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour has turned into a political firestorm — and suddenly, the music isn’t the only thing making headlines.

The controversy began after Macklemore was removed from the tour following his onstage comments supporting Palestine.

The Perfect singer has said the decision came from the tour’s promoter after venues objected to having Macklemore on the bill.

Then came the domino effect. Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, Finneas and Sheeran’s backing band Beoga all pulled out in solidarity with Macklemore, leaving the singer’s remaining shows without their scheduled supporting acts.

According to Rob Shutter, the fallout has left Sheeran increasingly frustrated.

“Ed is livid because this has become the exact opposite of what he wanted,” a shared.

“He wants to walk onstage, play his songs and entertain people. Suddenly his tour is becoming a referendum on politics.”

The outlet claims canceling the remaining dates has even been discussed, although current reporting indicates the tour is still moving forward.

“Everything is imploding around him, and Ed is asking whether continuing is even worth it,” another insider noted. “He would rather pull the plug than spend every night watching his music become secondary to a political fight he never asked to join.”

“Ed doesn’t want to pick a side,” the source added. “He wants out of the fight.”

For now, though, Sheeran appears set to keep playing — even as the drama refuses to stay backstage.
