According to sources, Malik had informed Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif about his decision on Tuesday. Malik told the prime minister that he had to travel abroad for treatment of his ailing wife. The sources said that he was likely to resign on Friday.
They said that Salman Butt Advocate was expected to be appointed as the attorney general.
