Duchess Sophie wraps up Zambia tour as King Charles faces new challenge

The royal family's stunnig Duchess, Sophie, has wrapped up her important Zambia royal tour as the Palace faces new challenge.

The Duchess of Edinburgh has concluded an eventful five-day visit aimed to strengthen ties between the United Kingdom and the southern African nation.

The Duchess enjoyed fun-filled moments during her engagements about healthcare, education, environmental and women’s empowerment.

She returned to the UK amid chaos trigged by Charles Spencer's fourthcoming book on Princess Diana, with some of its extrcts have already reignighted feud with the palace.

During the visit, the Duchess met Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema and First Lady Mutinta Hichilema. A major part of Sophie’s tour focused on eye health, learning about the country's efforts to eliminate trachoma, a painful eye disease that can cause blindness.

She also took part in activities linked to environmental conservation. She also visited Maramba Primary School and attended a reception hosted by an eye-health charity.

Sophie also exchanged views with members of Kufadza female scouts and women business leaders during her stay. The engagements focused on the role of women and young people in local communities and development.
