Ed Sheeran tour fallout gets ugly as Piers Morgan weighs in

Ed Sheeran’s LOOP Tour drama just got another celebrity reaction — and Piers Morgan’s guest did not hold back.

On Piers Morgan Uncensored, Wajahat Ali branded Sheeran a “coward” while discussing the fallout from Macklemore’s removal from the tour after the rapper’s pro-Palestinian remarks onstage.

Morgan questioned Sheeran’s position, arguing that the singer knew what he was getting into when Macklemore joined the lineup.

“Ed knew who he was booking as one of his support acts. He can't be that surprised as he is now trying to pretend he is about what then happened. He's now taking enormous flack from absolutely everybody,” Morgan said.

He later added: “Ed Sheeran knew what he was getting. If it looks like a duck it's gonna quack.”

Ali took an even harder line, saying: “Ed Sheeran was a coward. Ed Sheeran said, I'm apolitical, but all the data shows that Ed Sheeran was very political and supported. Wait for it. Ukraine!”

The controversy has already triggered a major shake-up. Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, Finneas and Sheeran’s backing band Beoga have withdrawn from the tour in solidarity with Macklemore.

Sheeran has insisted Macklemore’s removal was the promoter’s decision, not his.

“I would never let down the fans who had made plans, nor would I abandon the touring crew and the other support acts and musicians who rely on me for work and to make a living.”

Meanwhile, Macklemore said he would donate his reported $1 million tour earnings to organizations supporting Palestinians. Robert Kraft subsequently said Sheeran had asked him to commit $2 million toward humanitarian aid.

And amid all that noise? Ellie Goulding posted just one heart emoji. Fans, naturally, had plenty to say about it.
