Miley Cyrus shares heartbreaking story behind her stage panic attack

Miley Cyrus has shared a painful story about a time when everything became too much for her while she was performing in front of a huge crowd.

The singer said she had an “actual anxiety attack” during a 2022 show in Mexico.

At the time, she was dealing with the death of her close friend Taylor Hawkins and was also trying to get used to performing for large crowds again after the Covid pandemic.

Miley said she told the audience what was happening.

“I was saying to the crowd, ‘I’m having an anxiety attack’. And they were like, ‘Hell yeah, we’re having anxiety attacks’.”

Just days earlier, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker was through a frightening experience while flying to Paraguay.

Her plane was struck by lightning and had to make an emergency landing.

She called Hawkins after the incident and said he tried to make her feel better.

Sadly, the Foo Fighters drummer died the next day.

“He’s like, ‘Man, I’m here. It’s raining, but like the show’s going to be sick’. And the next day he was gone.”

The music icon later sang Angels Like You for Hawkins during a show in Brazil.

Now, Miley is starting a new chapter with her latest album, Bass Persuades, while preparing for two Hollywood Bowl shows in October.
