Cancer-stricken King Charles takes decision as ‘unkind' claims take toll

King Charles’s statement via the Buckingham Palace seemed to have only stirred the pot further rather than ease any tensions between him and his former brother-in-law Charles Spencer.

Princess Diana’s brother is making major claims as he retells the story of his sister, who passed away in a tragic car crash nearly 30 years ago.

The late Princess of Wales had been a beloved public figure but her messy marriage and divorce with King Charles is still fresh for many royal watchers.

It is understood that tensions are very much brewing in the Palace but as new revelations come forth. And the King, who is undergoing cancer treatment, is affected by the ordeal as well.

“He is saddened that the sorrows of old are being dragged up again,” a friend of the King told The Sunday Times.

“The King was more concerned about the future of mankind than the unkind claims of one man picking at the scars of the past.”

It is believed that the King is unlikely to issue any more responses to what comes ahead, anything takes attention away from the memoir.

In a surprise turn of events, Buckingham Palace issued a statement noting that they have never done this before.

“While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss,” a spokesperson from the Palace said on behalf of King Charles.
