Prince Harry, in his own words, had an “eventful” homecoming as he settles in Britain with Meghan and their two children.

It appeared that things were headed in the right direction for the Sussex-Royal reconciliation when the King’s letter, confirming their status as “private citizens” caused new friction.

The Palace was still reeling from the ordeal when Charles Spencer’s forthcoming book threatened to drag the royals once again as old wounds reopen.

However, the King may be choosing to resolve one battle at a time, as Prince Harry reportedly gets offered an olive branch from his father.

Harry, who marked his 42nd birthday last week, had more calls from members of the royal family than expected, according to sources cited by Rob Shuter.

“Harry heard from more royals than people would expect, including his father,” a royal source said. “But from William and Catherine? Nothing. No call, no text, no private message. Not a word.”

They noted Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also extended birthday greetings.

“The King reached out because Harry is still his son, and Charles wasn’t going to let a birthday pass without acknowledging that,” the source added. “Other relatives felt the same. Nobody wanted to turn Harry’s birthday into another royal battlefield.”

Meanwhile, the estrangement between Prince Harry and Prince William is still on. The insider insisted that William had the opportunity to reach out to his brother but he chose not to take it.
