Prince William, Princess Kate clear air over Charlotte school remark

Prince William and Princess Catherine, who are protective parents, did not waste time to defend their daughter Princess Charlotte when a presenter seemed to have sparked a misconception about her treatment at school.

Prince George, who recently turned 13, has joined Eton this September, meanwhile, Charlotte and Louis are continuing at Lambrook. There are speculations that William and Kate are already looking at new schools for the young princess now that George has begun his boarding school chapter.

BBC radio presenter, Greg James, had made a joke about Charlotte joining Thomas’s Battersea school back in 2019. Greg playfully noted how the young royal shook hands with the headmistress Helen Haslem.

Greg was later confronted by the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace.

He said they “were listening on the morning Charlotte went to school. I saw the photo during the show and said, ‘Who the hell shakes hands with their teacher on the first day?’

“I went: ‘Oh God, no!’

“They’d heard me saying, ‘This school was so posh they had to shake hands with their teacher every day. They were not like that in my day. You were pleased if you got a smile.’”

However, there doesn't seem to be any bad blood between Greg and the Waleses. Prince William appeared jovial and happy when he came to support the presenter during the tandem bike challenge.
