Prince William makes urgent call to key figure as feud reaches boiling point

In a surprise move amid a week of royal tension, Prince William has made an important call to a key figure.

On Monday, September 21, the Prince of Wales spoke by telephone with Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney, in what was their first conversation since Carney took office.

During the call, the future British monarch and the PM discussed  the enduring strength of the UK-Canada relationship.

Wiliam also spoke of his longstanding affection for Canada and its people.

The timing is key amid Prince Harry's uncle Charles Spencer's shocking revelations in his new book on Princess Diana. 

The call comes just as speculation mounts over the royal family's next moves on the world stage.
