Christina Applegate breaks silence after lengthy hospital stay

Christina Applegate is back in the spotlight — and she’s doing it with fresh hair and a little humor.

The 54-year-old actress made her first public appearance since her lengthy hospital stay, showing off a new blowout and her signature light blonde hair in a video shared Monday.

Dressed casually in a black hoodie, black tank top and jeans, Applegate smiled for the camera while showing off her new look.

She accessorised with layered necklaces and, naturally, had a joke ready about one unexpected detail.

“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she captioned the post.

“Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”

Fans quickly filled the comments with messages of support, praising the Married … With Children star for looking “beautiful” and calling her “truly powerful.”

The appearance comes more than a month after Applegate returned home following an extended hospital stay that began in March. The reason for her hospitalisation has not been publicly disclosed.

Applegate, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, addressed her health earlier this year, telling fans: “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”

She added, “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

Her longtime friends and former co-stars have also rallied around her. David Faustino previously said Applegate gets through difficult moments with humour.

“She gets through this with some humor, and that’s kind of her way that she moves through it,” he told Us Weekly.
