Hayden Panettiere's final cause of death confirmed

Hayden Panettiere’s cause of death has been confirmed one month after the actress died at the age of 36.

The Heroes star died on August 16 at a home in Greenville, South Carolina.

At first, officials believed her death could be linked to a drug overdose.

They waited for the full results before confirming what happened.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has now said Hayden died from the effects of several drugs, including fentanyl.

A spokesman said, “The cause of death has been ruled as toxic effects of fentanyl, 4 ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine.

The manner of death has been ruled accident.”

The autopsy also found no injuries that had caused or added to her death.

The coroner’s office has now closed the case.

Before the results were made public, reports claimed Hayden may have taken an oxycodone pill that had fentanyl in it.

Her representative had said those reports were not confirmed at the time because the investigation was still going on.

Hayden was found at a home in South Carolina after emergency workers were called.

They tried to save her, but she was later pronounced dead.

The actress was known for her roles in Heroes and Nashville. Her death at just 36 has left fans and those close to her mourning.
