Taylor Swift surprises fans with Patient Zero after 'impatiently waiting'

Taylor Swift has finally broken her silence on her latest musical mystery, revealing that a brand-new single called Patient Zero will be released this week.

The singer made the surprise announcement on Instagram on Tuesday, telling fans she had been “impatiently waiting” to share the news.

Patient Zero is set to arrive on 25 September, with fans able to pre-order the track through Swift’s website for a limited 24-hour window.

Earlier this week, the singer altered her Instagram bio by replacing several letter Os with zeros, while a countdown appeared on her website. 

Taylor's mysterious clues had sparked theories about everything from a new album project to a potential Taylor’s Version release.

She is due to receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at this Sunday’s VMAs.
