Prince William's velvet jacket catches Tom Cruise's eye as he reunites with David Beckham

Princess Kate and William also shared the red carpet with football icon Sir David Beckham with sons Cruz and Romeo. 

The evening brought together some of the biggest names from the worlds of film, sport and royalty in support of the Film and TV Charity.

The Princess was also presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by a group of young girls during the evening, with Kate smiling warmly as she accepted the thoughtful gift.

Inside the cinema, William and Kate met several beneficiaries whose lives have been transformed by the organisation’s support. 

Among them was 27-year-old Chloe Malone, who was sleeping rough just last year and remains in temporary accommodation.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Chloe is now preparing to take an important step towards her ambitions in the film industry. 

Thanks to support from the charity, she is about to begin a production course at the prestigious National Film and Television School.

There was also a light-hearted moment between William and Tom Cruise, who appeared impressed by the Prince’s evening attire. 

As William approached on the red carpet, Cruise smiled and told him: “Great jacket.”

The Prince had opted for a tuxedo featuring a double-breasted velvet jacket, finished with a classic bow tie.
