Taylor Swift ‘Patient Zero' hidden nod to Travis Kelce or Joe Alwyn?

Taylor Swift’s fan believes she is playing her A-game and not settling anytime soon with new Encore release!

The singer-songwriter, 36, newly released songs, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, detail the aftermath of toxic relationship she was in.

Swift surely does not mention the subject of her song, though some listeners may notice nods to past songs fans have linked to her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, the British actor whom she dated for six years. And some connect dots with her present relationship Travis Kelce, the NFL athlete whom she married on July 03.

The clips of song Patient Zero showing Dakota Johnson and Swift standing beside the grave while the singer’s wedding ring flashed on her finger, according to fan theories, is not a coincidence.

There has to be some meaning behind it. “Is Taylor hinting dumping Travis anytime soon?” one thread read on Reddit while a comment followed, “start of new era with it’s (Taylor’s) Patient Zero.”

However, none of the theories have any weightage or right justification.

Verses in “You’re Losing Me” like “You say, ‘I don’t understand’ and I say, ‘I know you don’t’ / We thought a cure would come through in time, now, I fear it won’t” and its final two lines, “Stop (Stop, stop), you’re losing me / I can’t find a pulse, my heart won’t start anymore” echo the lines in “Patient Zero,” “When the toxins take their hold / You’d rather die than let it go.”

Notably, she compared the topic of the song to an angelic-looking devil with the line about her knowing “the devil on his shoulder under his halo.”

Swift and Alwyn briefly dated for six years from May 2017 till early 2023. The actor being less known and not prone to limelight made his relationship difficult with Swift. However, later in 2023, the Blank Space singer was spotted with Kelce.

As for the “bridge” part of the song is taken as the subject is using her as a social ladder to achieve the spot – a claim so vivid, it never has been part of the past reports about their relation.

Whether or not the Anti-Hero hitmaker took inspiration from any of her past or present relation specifically, the Patient Zero lyrics depicts a picture that Swift never had an easy love life.
