Taylor Swift names muse behind 'Patient Zero' amid Joe Alwyn speculations

Taylor Swift sent fans wild with theories and speculations about which lyric is about whom, when she released her The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.

The 36-year-old pop superstar seemed to refer to a past relationship on Patient Zero, as well as on Pink Clouding from the newly released four songs.

Despite the theories about whether Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, or Joe Jonas inspired the song, Swift explained the real inspiration in a clip sent to Capital FM.

The Opalite hitmaker noted, “The story behind me writing the song Patient Zero is that I was hanging out with a bunch of friends, and one of my friends told us that she had been reached out to by the new girlfriend of an ex of hers, asking for guidance on if she had had the same experiences with this guy, everyone in our group just immediately started saying like, ‘Oh, I've been through that too,’ and telling the stories of when this kind of reach out had happened for them.”

Reacting to the story, fans wrote, "The backstory of Patient Zero is iconic," and "If this is true, this was definitely that pap walk she had with the girls hahahahahaha."

A third chimed in, "when the exes come together and start comparing notes, you just know there’s a whole story waiting to come out."

While one speculated, "oh sh-- it’s gracie [Abrams] reaching out to phoebe bridgers," referring to two of Swift's friends.

Another mused, "Its about joe jones[sic] !!!!! Smh you guys wanna blame joe alwyn for everything."
