King Charles receives shocking reaction to kind offer: ‘back off'

Buckingham Palace would have been rather taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, on top of the family drama that the monarch already has to deal with.

“Most concerned” King Charles was not anticipating reaction he received as he tried to help out an old friend during a tough time.

The monarch was firmly blocked out from contacting his friend writer and explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who is suffering from Parkinson’s since the past two years.

Sir Ranulph’s wife Millington-Cotes was angry that the Palace had been given her details and told them to “back off”. She threatened the intermediary with a solicitor and the police, claiming they were causing her husband “immense distress”, according to a report by The Telegraph.

The King’s equerry had received a letter from an individual asking how the King could get in touch with Sir Ranulph and gave details of his wife, who is also the 82-year-old’s legal guardian. When Charles discovered of his pal’s declining health and the isolation, he was left very concerned.

The person who passed the contact details had thought that Sir Ranulph would be “thrilled” to know that the King cared so much about him.

Known as the world’s greatest living explorer, he hasn’t been seen in public and friends and family have expressed concerns over the situation. He has reportedly been moved from series of care homes and given a false name by his second wife.

Millington–Cotes reportedly told friends that the King hated her husband and Queen Camilla had helicopters fly over their property to annoy them. According to Sir Ranulph’s stepson, who is estranged from his mother, she became increasingly “dominating”.

Initially friends were allowed to see Sir Ranulph if they signed non–disclosure agreements, but there hasn’t been any update since this year.
