Florence Pugh's anger grows over alleged assault case

Florence Pugh shared an emotional message after getting to know about an alleged sexual assault case at Cornell University.

The actress spoke about the case on her Instagram account after details of a lawsuit started spreading online.

A former student, who was known as Jane Doe, says she was drugged and sexually assaulted by seven members of the Chi Phi fraternity in 2024.

The student filed a civil case in New York last month. The fraternity was later stopped from operating after the claims came to light.

No criminal charges have been brought against the people who are involved in this case.

Pugh, however, said the story made her feel upset and worried.

"After reading about the young woman who was gang raped at her college by her friend and school peers, I'm feeling uneasy and sick and anxious.

I'm processing quietly and watching everything and everyone and every man. I have a few thoughts on this horrific act that happened at Cornell College (sic) in 2024. I know this has happened before, and I hate the idea of it happening again," she shared.

She also added that men need to speak about cases like this instead of just staying quiet.

"You need to be leading conversations about how we change the allowance and complicity of this behaviour as much as we are. How can you expect us to trust that it's 'not all men' when in moments like this, many of you stay quiet?"

The actress said she was also angry about how the university reportedly handled the case.

Florence Pugh’s, moreover, sent a message to the woman who came forward.
