ISLAMABAD: Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)--Birthday of Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH)-- is being observed with traditional religious zeal across the country, Geo News reported.
Various religious, social and cultural organizations have organized rallies, processions, Mahafil-e-Milad and Seerat gatherings where speakers will highlight various aspects of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Important public and private buildings, mosques and streets in all cities have been decorated with lights, green flags, colorful buntings and banners welcoming the festive day commonly known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
It's a public holiday today and all government and semi-government offices, bazaars and shopping malls will remain closed Tuesday.
Sweets will be distributed among orphanages, widow and disabled and handicapped person as well as among prisoners.
The newspapers and magazines will bring out special issues while the electronic media will air special programmes highlighting the sanctity and significance of the day.
The government has made elaborate security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion.
Additional police and other security personnel will also be present on key points to maintain law and order.
