Kelly Clarkson's surprising take on AI revealed: 'Lover'

Kelly Clarkson has officially entered the AI conversation—and she’s not exactly keeping her opinion quiet.

The singer recently stopped by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast, where she admitted she has a surprisingly enthusiastic relationship with artificial intelligence.

“Controversial, I don’t care. Here’s the thing, I love AI. There are very amazing things with AI that I’m obsessed with. I’m very into it artistically, too. I have fun with it just like everybody else does,” Kelly said.

And apparently, this isn’t just casual AI appreciation. Clarkson even gave a special shout-out to her favorite chatbot, calling ChatGPT “my lover, ChatGPT.”

But when it comes to AI-generated music competing directly with human artists, the American Idol alum suddenly has some rules.

“But when you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue. I think there should be a separate chart.”

That doesn’t mean Clarkson wants AI music kicked out of the industry altogether. Quite the opposite.

“I think it’s welcome! I think it’s welcome to the table. I think it’s really cool and creative what we’re going to create with AI, musically… I think it’s a fun field to play in. But I don’t think they should be competing with humans,” she added.

So, Clarkson is apparently happy to let AI join the musical party—just not steal the trophy from the humans.

During the same interview, the singer also opened up about whether she’s currently single or dating, adding another personal twist to the AI-heavy conversation.
