Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan just gave Alias fans a reunion they probably didn’t have on their bingo cards.
Garner shared a sweet selfie with her former co-star and ex-boyfriend as she celebrated the spy thriller’s 25th anniversary in a nostalgic Instagram montage.
In the photo, Garner, 54, wraps an arm around Vartan, 57, who keeps things casual in a chambray shirt, Mets cap and glasses.
“They were my whole world, the cast and crew, and they still are,” Garner said in the video’s voiceover. “All these years later, we've been together. We're a little band that's gone together for the past 25 years.”
The reunion was clearly bigger than just Vartan. Garner also included throwback-style snaps with Victor Garber, Ron Rifkin, Merrin Dungey and series creator J.J. Abrams.
Looking back, Garner said Alias completely changed the direction of her career—and even how she carried herself.
“Alias was so far outside of anything I had done,” she shared. “No one had thought of me for action. No one had thought of me for a tough role.”
Garner, who shares three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck, added, “I walked differently after I played Sydney. It's something I'm so proud to be a part of.”
As for Vartan, the actor has largely stayed away from Hollywood in recent years. His last movie role was in 2017’s Small Town Crime, followed by a guest appearance on God Friended Me in 2018.
Reflecting on fame that same year, Vartan said, “As I get older, it’s not that I care less, but I really do. I care less about what people think about me.”
Twenty-five years later, it seems the Alias crew still knows how to make a reunion feel like old times.
