Lady Gaga is taking responsibility amid controversy surrounding her beauty brand, Haus Labs.
On Thursday, October 1, the pop icon issued an apology to beauty influencer Golloria after she criticised Haus Labs’ lack of inclusivity in their latest launch, the Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil. After posting the review in May, Golloria claimed the brand had asked her to remove her review because the product was under embargo.
In her statement, Gaga confirmed that the request had been made “on the technicality that she was under embargo,” adding that “the way the company initially handled that feedback was wrong.”

“This was unkind and not at all how a creator — or any customer’s voice — should ever be treated,” Gaga wrote, explaining that the company had paused the launch and returned to development.
“I truly apologise to Golloria and the community for where we fell short. You were 100% right. We will work hard to make sure it never happens again. Personally, I will see to it,” she added.
Gaga confirmed that the bronzer will now launch with 11 shades designed for every skin tone, saying the brand hopes customers will see how seriously it took the feedback.
