A video circulating on social media claims to show Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in Balochistan tying a young man to a tree and setting him on fire.
The footage was recorded in Mexico and has no connection to Pakistan.
Claim
On October 1, a user posted a 31-second video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing a man being tied to a tree and set on fire.
The post claimed that Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, a paramilitary force in Pakistan, had shot a person in Balochistan and then set his body ablaze.
At the time of writing, the post had received 202,900 views, 1,000 likes and 87 comments.
Fact
The footage was not recorded in Balochistan. It was filmed in Mexico in 2025.
Cartel Insider, which describes itself as an independent journalism platform reporting on Mexico’s drug cartels, published the same footage on November 14, 2025. According to the report, the video shows gunmen affiliated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) killing a man by setting him on fire.

The footage also shows a man carrying a gun with “CJNG” written on his uniform, further indicating his affiliation with the Mexican cartel.
José Díaz Briseño, a correspondent for Reforma, a Mexico-based newspaper, also reshared the footage on X. He described it as part of an inter-cartel conflict.

Verdict: The footage was recorded in Mexico, not Balochistan, Pakistan, and shows alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) burning a man with a flamethrower.
