TOKYO: Tokyo stocks rose 0.24 percent Thursday morning after a mixed session on Wall Street and as the yen turned lower.
The benchmark Nikkei-225 index gained 37.61 points to 15,858.57 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.03 percent, or 0.37 points, to 1,299.26.
