GENEVA: Syrian peace talks in Geneva were deadlocked after a session Monday aimed at tackling the explosive issue of a transfer of power, delegation sources from the warring sides said.
Opposition delegation member Rima Fleihan said the talks were "not constructive" after the regime insisted on discussing "terrorism" instead of a transition. A source close to the regime delegation said the opposition had "rejected" a statement of principles from the government and there had been no further discussion.
